Using Other Pacific Northwest Academic Libraries

PSU Library is part of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, a consortium of academic libraries in the Northwest. Any current PSU student, staff, faculty member, or faculty emeriti has the ability to borrow materials at and from any other Alliance member institution as a Summit Visiting Patron. You can also pick up Pacific Northwest Academic Libraries (Summit) materials from other Summit libraries. Patrons who want visiting privileges and/or the option of picking up materials at a different Alliance library must physically visit that library in person in order to be verified first. You will need to show your ID (PSU, federal, or state issued) and be able to log in to your PSU Library account.

As part of the registration process, the library will create a username and password for you to use their catalog. Then, you will be able to request materials through their catalog, to be delivered to their library. The materials will be on your account at that library.

In the Portland area, Alliance member libraries include:

  • Portland Community College
  • University of Portland
  • Reed College
  • University of Oregon (two Portland locations)
  • Lewis & Clark College
  • Oregon Tech Portland-Metro campus in Wilsonville
