The online reservation system and study rooms are only available to currently enrolled Portland State University students. Faculty may check out a key for the Faculty Reading Room at the 1st floor Circulation Desk.
Pick up the study room key at the Circulation Desk. Photo ID is required.
No, the room will only be checked out to the person who reserved the room.
Yes, we will check out a room if one is available.
In an effort to ensure equitable use of space, the limit is 15 hours of per week (Sunday-Saturday). A group of students may not hold a room by rotating reservations/checkouts.
There are large tables on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library where groups can work together and talk. There is a walk-in “sandbox” area on the 1st floor, north end near the computer lab. You can borrow a laptop from the 1st floor Circulation Desk.
Yes, if you do not arrive within 30 minutes, your reservation will be cancelled.
Beverages in covered containers are allowed, as are snacks. Please dispose of trash and keep the study room clean for the next group.
The library is not responsible for items left in the study rooms. Ideally, another library patron will bring your item to the 1st floor Circulation Desk, where we have a Lost and Found. You might also check the campus Lost and Found.
If the room is booked by another group, that group may enter the study room, and you will need to leave.
We do not charge overdue fines for study room keys. Because rooms are booked in advance, we have two sets of keys. If you stay in a room longer than your allotted time, most likely another group will be entering the room when your reservation has ended.
The library will charge $100 for replacing the key, plus a $35 processing fee.
Login to your account to view previous bookings. Reservation history is kept indefinitely.
