Women in Oregon Politics & Policy

Our archival collections of the papers of key Oregonian women officials and political leaders include campaign materials, correspondence, recordings, photographs, and speeches.

This collection of streaming video from Roberts’ political career includes official speeches as Oregon’s governor, keynote addresses to civic organizations, and television appearances including “Conversations with Oregon.” These recordings were digitally transferred from VHS from the Barbara Roberts Collection.

The Center for Women’s Leadership has partnered with Portland State Library Special Collections, the PSU Department of History, and the PSU Black Studies Department to provide a home for a growing archive of political papers from Oregon’s trailblazing women leaders. Two digital exhibits, specially curated by historian Morgen Young, focus on Expanding Access and on the 1973 Legislative Session.
