Academic Priority
The computer equipment and network in the PSU Library support the research, learning, and teaching activities of current PSU students, faculty, and staff. The PSU Library is also committed to serving the research needs of the general public and other affiliated PSU community users that cannot be served by area public libraries. However, the Library reserves the right to give priority to current PSU students, faculty, and staff, through restricting the number of computers available for public computing, setting limits on the time that the general public may use computing equipment, and limiting what content may be accessed on public-use computers.Acceptable Use Policy
Conduct which violates the PSU Library Acceptable Use Policy includes, but is not limited to:- Conduct that violates policies stated in the PSU Office of Information Technology Acceptable Use Policy
- Starting the computer from an external device, such as an external hard drive or USB drive
- Installing applications or modifying the configuration of the computer, its applications, and/or operating system
Accessing websites on these computers other than those approved by the Library is a violation of the Library’s Acceptable Use Policy.
Violations of the Acceptable Use Policy may result in loss of computing privileges and/or removal from the Library.
