Visits & Study Room Usage

Nearly 3 million people visit the Library and its website annually; students heavily use the online study room reservation tool.

Over one million people visited the Library last year, and nearly 1.5 million visited the PSU Library website.

Students check out study rooms more than 3,000 times per month.

Use of Electronic Resources: eBooks, Streaming Media, Articles & PDXScholar

Users access eBooks, streaming media and other online content 2.4 million times in an average year.

Over one million articles were downloaded from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.

Online content is increasingly popular at PSU Library.

Circulation & Resource Sharing

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members borrow a high volume of books, videos, and other items from PSU Collections and beyond.

In one month, users may borrow more than 28,000 PSU-owned items.

Users borrow over 18,000 books and 8,000 pieces of equipment (laptops, headphones, calculators, adapters and more) in our busiest month.

At peak times, students, faculty and staff borrow over 4,000 items per month from nearby academic libraries via Summit regional resource sharing.

Students, faculty and staff borrow more than a thousand items per month from worldwide libraries beyond the regional consortium.

Reference & Instruction

Help is available via chat, email, phone and in person, and many students attend librarian-led classes to improve their research methodologies.

In one month, more than 2,000 people may visit the reference desk.

Over 3,000 students attend instruction sessions in the busiest month.
