Welcome to the Portland State University Library's web site where the Library is available to you 24 hours every day!
Many rich resources and services are here to assist you in meeting your academic, research, personal and professional goals. Here you have access not only to the Portland State Library's collection through Vikat, but also to the collections of over 30 academic libraries in Oregon and Washington through Summit. Librarians have purchased books and subscribed to journals whose full texts are available at this web site to Portland State students and faculty. Online course reserve material has been posted here by faculty so that you can retrieve it anytime from home. You will find links to a world of knowledge!
I also invite you to visit the Branford Price Millar Library on the Portland State campus where you will find rich collections of books, journals, sound recordings, videos, microforms, manuscripts, government information, and other critical materials that are not online. Best of all, knowledgeable library staff and faculty are available to help you strategize your research needs, find and select the materials best suited for the task, evaluate the credibility of your sources, and use the resources effectively. Those of you not affiliated with Portland State are welcome to use the expertise, collections, and databases on-site in the Millar Library all hours the library is open.
We especially encourage Portland State students to take advantage of the wonderful instructional opportunities provided by librarians in the classes they teach in courses and in drop-in tours and research assistance sessions. Ask them questions by telephone, online, and at the Reference Desk in the Millar Library's second floor Reference and Learning Center. They can simplify your work and save you time!
We know you lead a busy life and want to make it easier for you to achieve your learning, teaching and research goals. Let us know how we can help.
