How do you cite properly?

There are a different formats for citation in academic writing depending on your academic discipline. If you are not sure which format to use, ask your instructor.

The most common citation formats are those defined by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Modern Language Association (MLA), and the Chicago Manual of Style.

Style Guides and Resources

One good place to start for formatting rules is with Purdue University's Online Writing Center (OWL):

The Library keeps print copies of the major style manuals at the 2nd floor reference desk and the librarians there can help you with your citations.

The PSU Writing Center is also available to help you with citation (and any other writing help).
