The conference will take place on the campus of Portland State University in and near the PSU Library on the South Park Blocks in southwest Portland, Oregon.
Travel to Portland
Portland is served by Portland International Airport (PDX), located nine miles from the PSU campus. Frequent MAX Light Rail service connects the airport to downtown Portland and PSU in about 45 minutes with one connection; tickets are $2.50. Taxi cabs are readily available outside the airport; expect to pay $35-$40 for a ride to the PSU area. Travel Portland has more information.
Portland's Union Station has daily service connecting Portland with Seattle, WA, Eugene, OR, and Vancouver, BC. You can also take the train to and from many West Coast cities and other locations.
If you reserved a room in a residence hall at Portland State, you will be staying in The Broadway, 1977 SW 6th Ave, Portland. Check in there for your room key and parking permit (if you purchased one in advance).
The Broadway office is staffed from 7:00am - 10:00pm. If you will arrive after 10:00pm, please call the after hours number at 971-246-6028 a few minutes before your arrival, and they will meet you.
Please refer to this information packet from Summer Housing & Conferencing for more information about your stay at PSU. (Please note that the information has one error. The after hours phone number is listed incorrectly. Use 971-246-6028 if you will arrive after 10pm.)
Transit and Parking
Parking can be a challenge on our downtown campus. However, we are very well-served by public transportation through Trimet, our region's transit agency. You can take MAX Light Rail, the Portland streetcar, or the bus to PSU. The Trimet trip planner can help you plan your travel within Portland. Daily tickets are $5.
If you will be driving and you haven't purchased a daily parking permit in advance, please check PSU Transportation and Parking Services.
If you are not staying in PSU Housing and you purchased a parking permit in advance, you will be able to pick it up with your name badge at conference check-in.
