Opening Doors on the 3rd Floor
Students rely on the University Library in many different ways, and it is our mission to support all their various needs. The Library is a multifaceted resource for information access, but we are also the largest provider of physical student study space for nearly 30,000 PSU students. With many of our students working and juggling family responsibilities, the Library takes on increased importance as their academic home when they are on campus. In student surveys, the Library is always among the top three places they value the most on campus. It is central to academic experiences of all students—a place where everyone studies, works, and learns.
It is with that role in mind that we have undertaken a bold renovation of the Millar Library Third Floor, to be completed in Spring 2014. The new space reflects the needs of students today, but also give us the ability to adapt to evolving student study style. This includes the addition of comfortable seating and technology-enhanced spaces for mobile devices and laptops.
Donor support has helped us transform the Third Floor into a dynamic study space for our students. We will be recognizing all donors who made gifts of $5,000+ in the space, as recognition of the difference made possible with the support of generous donors. These gifts helped us make our vision a reality for PSU students as they work in our spaces every day.
