Alumni Student Employees

Did you work at the University Library as a student?

Molly

I began my library career in 2000 when I was hired to work at the circulation desk as a student employee.
At that time, I had just returned to school as an older student and had a great deal of work experience, but
not much in the way of study skills. Working in the library connected me with all the resources it had to
offer, as well as helping me get to know the wonderful librarians and staff.  New students are often overwhelmed
and sometimes confused when they come to the library.  I loved being able to help my fellow students order
interlibrary loan items, search for their course reserve materials, and familiarize people with the building by
giving library tours.
I choose to give to the Student Employee fund because working at the library
as a student employee helped me graduate with a degree in History and made me the person I
am today.
