As the Portland State University Library evolves to meet the needs of our students, we must adapt to rapid changes in technology--from the formats students use to read materials to how these materials are accessed. Exciting developments around the Library include PDXScholar, an open access digital repository that houses electronic versions of PSU students’ theses and dissertations as well as faculty scholarship.
The University Library provides access to more than 42,000 online journals and databases and logs more than 1.2 million visits to the University Library website annually, in addition to the over 900,000 patrons who visit the Millar Library. We added 31,718 books to our 1,413,410 volumes last year alone. The Library provides access to over 160,000 e-books through ebrary, NetLibrary, Safari Books Online, and many other sources. Fully 80% of the PSU Library budget for information resources is now spent on information in electronic format and the percentage grows each year.

The University Library seeks private support to maintain and increase its electronic information resources. Gifts to the Electronic Resources Fund at the PSU Library enable us to acquire and provide vital information resources to our students and faculty in order to support the innovative research and learning happening at Portland State University.
A donation to the Electronic Resources Fund is a commitment to our mission,
an investment in helping us adapt to the ever-changing information landscape.
