What is the "PSU Links" service?

PSU Links is a library tool that will help you link directly from an article reference or citation in a database to the full text of that article, if full-text is available. With PSU Links, you can immediately access the article you want if it is available electronically in full text from the PSU Library. You can also use other options to check the Library Catalog (Vikat) to see if we have the item in print.

The library is currently developing the PSU Links tool; not all full-text sources have been enabled. We are in the first stages of implementation, so the service will improve over time.

How do I use PSU Links?

Simply look for the PSU Links button when searching in many of the databases offered by the library. PSU-enabled databases are marked in our Databases & Full-Text Resources lists with a PSU Links icon.

Whenever you see the PSU Links button in a database, click on the button and a menu of options will open in a new browser window. You may then:

  • link to the full text of the article in an electronic journal, when the library has access to the resources;
  • search the library catalog for the item;
  • or choose other options as displayed on the menu.

Note that different databases may display the PSU Links button in different locations. Some display the button on the search results page, while others only show the button in the full record view.
