Exhibit in the Library - Sierra Leone: Portraits of War Affected Children

Dr. David L. Parker visited the World Hope Center in Freetown, Sierra Leone in March, 2000. His stunning black & white photographs of children in recovery from the ravages of war are on display in the New Book Area of the Branford P. Millar Library, Portland State University, from February 18 to March 28, 2008. The photographs were taken at a child soldier rehabilitation center, the World Hope Center, and Action Contra Faim, a nutrition feeding center. This exhibit is part of the Multnomah County Library Everybody Reads 2008 program. The exhibit sponsors are: Office of International Affairs Portland State Black Studies Department Portland State English & Cultural Studies Department Portland State Geography Department Portland State University Library Academically-controlled Auxiliary Activities Fund (AAA) Diversity Action Council Portland Center for Public Humanities Internationalization Action Council "Sierra Leone: Portraits of Children at War", is a traveling exhibition by The Manitoba Museum featuring photographs by Dr. David L.
