Barbara Glackin started work this month at PSU Library as Assistant University Librarian for Resource Services & Technology. In this position, Barbara provides leadership, vision, planning, budgeting, assessment, and management for resource services and technology functions, including Acquisitions, Cataloging, Preservation, Collection Development, Electronic & Continuing Resources, and Library Technologies.
These responsibilities were managed in the interim by Tom Bielavitz, Assistant University Librarian for Administrative Services, Planning, & Digital Initiatives, and Mary Ellen Kenreich, Head of Acquisitions & Preservation.
Before moving to Portland, Barbara, an associate professor, served most recently as Associate Dean at Albertsons Library at Boise State University, where she worked in both technical and public services. Barbara has presented and published on ebooks, mobile devices, WorldCat Local, patron-driven acquisitions, and cataloging systems. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA from Briar Cliff University.
