Proposed Hanford 300 Area clean up plan - Public Comment solicited

Date: 07/26/2013

The Hanford Tri-Party Agreement (TPA) agencies invite public comments on the proposed plans for cleaning up contaminated soils and groundwater in Hanford's 300 Area. The 300 Area is a few miles from Richland, Washington, next to the Columbia River, and was home to fuel manufacturing operations as well as experimental and laboratory facilities. A few of the 300 Area buildings are still in use, but the majority of the industrial complex and its structures have been or are set to be demolished.

You can download a copy of the 300 Area Fact sheet (pdf) or review public comment documents located in the Hanford Collection along the curve of the wall on the fifth floor of the Portland State University Library.

Public meetings will be held:
July 30, 5:30 p.m., Richland Public Library, 955 Northgate Dr., Richland, WA
July 31, 6 p.m., University Heights Center, 5031 University Way NE, Seattle, WA
August 8, 6 p.m., Best Western Hotel, 1108 E Marina Dr., Hood River, OR
