The Oregon Sustainable Community Digital Library (OSCDL) is a collection of planning materials documenting growth and change in the Portland Metropolitan Area and within Oregon from the 1920s through 2009. Portland State University Library has extended the reach of these important urban planning documents by making them available through PDXScholar, the digital repository of Portland State University.
Originally funded by a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Oregon State Library in 2005, the creation of the OSCDL was a collaboration of Portland State and Portland-area government agencies and organizations: PSU Library, the Nohad A. Toulan School of Urban Studies and Planning, Metro, TriMet, the City Club of Portland, and the City of Portland Archives.
The collection includes City Club of Portland reports and bulletins, urban growth boundary maps, Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Transportation meeting minutes, selected papers from the Ernie Bonner Collection held at Portland State Library, and much more.
The OSCDL captures Portland and Oregon’s rich engagement with planning, documenting much of the history that has shaped our region into what it is today. PSU Library is pleased to make these materials more accessible and findable.
