Contains original manuscripts, books, ephemeral material (trade cards, wanted posters, photos, claim certificates, news-sheets), maps, and rare printed works drawn from the Graff Collection at the Newberry Library. Includes materials from 1722 to 1939 with deeper holdings from 1830 to 1939. Collection strengths are Native Americans, pioneers, hunters, explorers, mining and the Gold Rush, railroads, outlaws, the Mormon Exodus, agricultural development, Wild West shows, and fiction.
Licensed for use by on-site patrons and current Portland State University students, faculty, and staff.
