About this resource:

Early American Newspapers, Series 1 (1690-1876), offers searchable, historical American newspapers from 23 states and the District of Columbia. This online collection is based primarily on the Clarence S. Brigham History and Bibliography of American Newspapers, 1690-1820. Early American Newspapers, Series 2 (1758-1900), and Series 3(1829-1922), offer searchable issues from significant 18th,19th, and 20th century newspapers from the 50 states as well as the District of Columbia. These two series are based primarily on the holdings of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS),and the newspaper collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society.
