Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

The work I want to copy and use doesn't contain a copyright notice so I can copy it without getting permission, right?

Answer:

No. Don't assume that the absence of a copyright notice on a creative work means that the work is not subject to copyright protection. Under current copyright law, the author does not have to include the copyright notice © in order to have a copyright. Under the current law, the moment a work is written down, recorded or otherwise becomes "tangible," it is protected by copyright law.
