Manifold Greatness: The Creation and Afterlife of the King James Bible

Cover of book titled Hymns in the Chinook Jargon LanguageUniversity Library’s Special Collections invites you to visit the Collins Gallery on the 3rd floor of the Multnomah County Central Library to view the local exhibition of "Manifold Greatness: The Creation and Afterlife of the King James Bible." This exhibit, which concerns the historical background and ongoing cultural influence of the King James Bible (first printed in 1611), includes 11 items from Special Collections, among them several manuscripts and rare books. PSU students contributed to this exhibit as part of a research seminar.

The exhibit will be on view through August 26, 2012. The gallery is free and open to the public, but its hours vary slightly from regular library hours. Please check the webpage below for the schedule. The traveling exhibition of "Manifold Greatness," based on an exhibit of the same name developed by the Folger Shakespeare Library and the Bodleian Library at the University of Oxford, will open in the Collins Gallery alongside the local exhibit on July 12, 2012.
